As of March 1, 2006, applications must include the following information. Please number your answers and do your best to be as clear and concise as possible. Your ability to correctly follow these instructions and thoroughly answer all questions will be taken as an indication of how well you would follow instructions given to you in a raid.

1) Basic Info - Give your character's name, class, and race.
2) Professions - What are they, and do you have any notable recipes?
3) Schedule - Can you attend our raids? (see our schedule by clicking on the schedule link.) If you cannot attend 100% of our raids, which ones would you have to miss? All raids start with 6:30pm invite and 7pm start time.
4) Real Life Situation - What is your real life age? Are you in school, working, or neither? Do you have a family? How do you balance real life and WoW?
5) Guild History - What guilds have you been in? Why are you no longer affiliated with them?
6) WoW History - Describe your WoW experience. What servers, factions, classes have you played? What raid content have you seen? What raid content do you know by heart?
7) Equipment - Describe your character's current equipment. When wearing equipement to maximize resists, how much unbuffed fire, shadow, and nature resist do you have? What gear do you want for your character? (e.g. I am a paladin and I want to maximize +healing gear without losing too many other stats)
8) Playstyle - What do you enjoy doing with your character? Please include your build, how you spend free time, and how successful you think you are at your playstyle.
9) Ventrilo - You must have this program.
10) Why? - Why do you want to join Validus? What do you think you can contribute to our guild?

Example application (written before AQ was released):

1) Redo, the female dwarf paladin.

2) 300 Blacksmith + Master Axesmith - my previous guild (Knights of Doomshire) needed me to make arcanite reapers a long, long time ago
300 Engineering - I realized I hadn't mined a single vein of anything in 4 months and dropped mining about a month ago. I picked up Engineering for PvP purposes.

3) I can and will attend 100% of raids barring life threatening illness and a school exam scheduled at the exact same time.

4) I am a 22 year old senior in college. I'll be working full time as a software engineer starting in August. I'm single.

5) I joined Knights of Doomshire (Tichondrius server) in January 2005. KoD had some issues and finally split during August 2005 and I was one of the founding members of Validus. I've been with them ever since.

6) I have always played this character, my female dwarf paladin. On this character, I have participated in end game raiding since February or March 2005. I have been raiding since the beginning of raiding in WoW, for example I was on a PUG Onyxia run before Onyxia had ever been killed on Tichondrius. My first exposure to MC was with Invictus on Tichondrius back in March or April 2005. My first time there, we wiped on the molten giants (embarassing now, but we had no idea what to expect and the entire raid was new at raiding except for one person). I raided with Invictus (Tichondrius) until they cleared through Shazzrah and KoD started to get enough 60s to do their own MC runs.

I was a part of the KoD MC runs from the very beginning. Due to my high attendance and good grasp of raid mechanics, I eventually became the default raid leader by July 2005. In KoD we cleared through Majordomo. KoD had lots of members with too many different goals, and eventally all the progression oriented people left to form Validus in August 2005. After being stuck on Ragnaros for nearly 2 months in KoD, we killed Rag in less than 2 weeks within Validus. We then proceeded to tear our way through Blackwing Lair. We ended up being the 5th Nefarian kill on the Tichondrius server, about 6 weeks behind the very first Nefarian kill on Tichondrius.

I know all the encounters in MC and BWL like the back of my hand. I can draw a map of MC and BWL including trash mobs. I can describe the role of all classes in all boss fights in extreme detail. I can even list the loot that every boss drops.

7) I am a healadin to the core. My goal is to maximize +healing gear without gimping my other stats. I currently have +723 healing, over 300 int/sta, and over 40 mana regen. I feel the only effective way to play a healing paladin is to maximize +healing gear since we are so mana efficient already, and so this is the type of gear I want to continue to collect. My max unbuffed fire resist is 240, although since I have fire resist aura I consider it 300. I typically wear about 200 for Vael/Ragnaros/Flamegor, and I don't wear it at any other time. My max unbuffed nature resist is currently 202. I haven't been collecting gear for other resists.

8) I enjoy being able to cast rank 1 flash of light for 35 mana and heal someone for 500 every 1.5 seconds while gaining mana. I also enjoy being able to crit heal someone for over 4500 every 3 minutes. I take pride in being a good healer.

I also enjoy leading raids. Recently I've been moving myself out of the groups that are more difficult to heal so that I can pay more attention to raid needs and not worry about people dying. I find that we progress through instances a lot faster when someone is directing all the pulls, buffs, etc.

9) I have used Ventrillo since Jan. 2005.

10) I am currently in Validus, but if I wasn't I'd want to join Validus because I play this game for PvE progression, and they are a great example of a guild that accomplishes PvE progression while not being elitist about it. I'd could never be a part of a guild that flaunts PvE accomplishments and talks crap all the time.

I am a very capable player with solid raid attendance and tons of knowledge about end game raiding. Every hardcore guild needs a strong base of players like this, and I would be a good part of this base. I also hate drama, and strive to fix it as much as possible.
